These simple racks provide a convenient way to hang reusable, resealable bags to dry. No more fighting with floppy bags that won't stay open on their own! These also work well for Swedish dish cloths and disposable bags, if you're in the habit of washing and reusing them.

The rack comes in two sizes:

  • The large rack will support most bags up to 30cm (12") deep. It's approximately 22cm in length by 17cm in width (8.75" L x 7" W) and 2cm (0.75") thick, and comes with 8 dowels – two each of 30cm (12"), 20cm (8"), 15cm (6") and 10cm (4").
  • The small rack is  best for small-medium size bags up to 20cm (8") deep. It's approximately 17cm in length by 14cm in width (7" L x 5.5" W) and 2cm (0.75") thick, and comes with 6 dowels – two each of 20cm (8"), 15cm (6") and 10cm (4").

Please note: Look at the product photos labelled Large # or Small # before ordering. These show the exact items that I have in stock. If you would like a specific one, quote the number in the order notes; "I would like Large #1" for example. If you don't specify a number, I'll choose one for you.

Reusable bags and dish cloths are not included. All stated dimensions are approximate. Wood is a natural product that contains colour variations and small imperfections. These are normal and do not constitute defects.

How to use:

To use the drying rack, arrange the included dowels in the holes in a way that supports your bag. The basic arrangement is two dowels placed in a row, spaced close enough together to fit inside the bag across its width, and a third dowel in the next row to hold the bag open. Wash the bag, dry the outside, and hang it over the dowels with the opening facing down.

Tips:

  • Combining dowels of different lengths will help keep the bag open wider and to dry more effectively, especially in the corners.
  • Dish cloths can be propped up between a row of dowels, or hung over them.
  • Use any arrangement that works. Experiment! There are no rules!

Care Instructions:

  • Don't immerse the rack in water or let it sit in pooled water. (Of course, it's expected that water will drip from the bags onto the rack. This is fine because it will evaporate quickly. )
  • Dry the rack and dowels off with a clean towel after use.
  • Store the rack and dowels in a dry place.
  • The rack and dowels are finished with a simple beeswax paste. If the wood starts to look and feel dry over time, you can renew it with any food safe beeswax paste or cutting board oil.
