Log in to your seller Admin Panel
This allows you to manage orders, products, messages and accounting settings and reports.
Configure your Shop
Complete your Seller Info in your Account. This can be used to modify your login credentials and personal data to be used during future purchases. An incomplete profile can cause errors with shipping, or leave default images in place for your shop logo.
Configure Shipping
The Shipping Method is United States Postal Service (USPS) Ground Advantage by default, with rates automatically being pulled from the USPS database. You can Add a Shipping Method (who ships for you) and a Rate Area (where you ship products to). “The Settings → Shipping methods → Rate areas page allows you to control where your store ships to. A rate area is a combination of parameters that represent a geographical area. Rate areas are used to calculate shipping rates and tax charges.
CS-Cart allows dynamically calculating shipping in real-time for select carriers. With an API key, you can add dynamically calculated shipping methods from your seller admin panel. For assistance accessing select carriers through cs-cart without a personal API key, email service@artisans.coop.
If a customer’s address doesn’t match any existing rate area (or if no shipping methods have rates for the customer’s location), then the customer won’t be able to select a shipping method at checkout and place an order.
For the real-time shipping calculation to work, the seller's address needs to be filled out so the system knows where the item will ship from. These fields are accessible to sellers in the Admin Panel (available from the menu in the top right when logged in). This is separate from the address on the seller's profile page, but in most cases should match (the exception would be if they have their business registered at one location but ship from another location).
If your account was migrated:
- Left menu – “Settings” to set up shipping
- Default is USPS Edit all other shipping methods you plan to use)
- For each method other than the first one: Click cog and “edit”
- Opens to General – Set Rate area (ALL, USA, Canada)
- Click on next tab “Shipping Time and Rates” – put a $ base rate into “rate” area – you will be able to add additional $$ amounts if an item will require more to send in each individual product later.
- SAVE often, as it does not automatically save when switching screens!

Flat Rate Shipping
If you’re looking to offer flat rate shipping on items, you’ll want to Add a Shipping Method with the rate calculated by customer address (which will not affect your flat rate) and a minimum or maximum weight limit. Save the shipping method, and you’ll have access to more configurations.
You can then define the shipping time for each rate area. You can also set the flat rate amount for each rate area, as well as distinguishing specific flat rates within the weight range you set when you created the method.
Free Shipping
It's possible to offer free shipping on select products. In order to do so, the product must have the free shipping box checked on the product page in the seller panel, and you will need a shipping option that can be used when there's free shipping (in the "additional settings" section of the Shipping method).
The latter part is for situations where you offer both express shipping (e.g. next day or 2 day delivery) and the normal shipping (e.g. 3-5 day delivery). You might not want people to choose the express shipping when they check out with a free item. Configuring the slower option to be used when free shipping is available and not configuring the express shipping in this way will give customers a choice at checkout. They can either get the free shipping, which will be the slower option, or they can pay for the express shipping and get it faster. And if you want all options to be available for free shipping, you can configure it that way. The customer will still have those same options, but both of them will be available at no additional cost. Two (or more) shipping options should be allowed. The typical situation would be to offer 2-day shipping for more money, or ground shipping for less money. The customer gets to decide.

PRODUCTS WITH FEATURES, VARIATIONS or OPTIONS
"Features" are uniquely inherent to a product itself. Variations are the combinations of features available for a product. Variations can be edited independently, so it appears as it’s own product in your seller panel.
The purpose of the feature impacts product display:
- Product search via filters is the most versatile, and retains individual listings for all products with the feature.
- Variations as separate products is good when you have multiple similar products that are different enough to have individual listings on the marketplace, but you want variations to be available through drop downs on product listings as well
- Variations as one product is good when you have multiple similar products, that you want chosen through a single product listings, using feature drop downs
Options are generalized and equally available for all products and sellers on the marketplace – in most cases, your product needs features and variations.
If your products were migrated skip to ”FOR MIGRATED PRODUCTS“ below.

- Options and Inventory Tracking
- Inventory can be tracked with options, without options, or not at all
- Options may or may not affect inventory

If you open a product page from your seller panel, variations will be listed as “A variation of ‘product link’. Each variation can be independently edited including categories and price.
