KnitZy Fiberlicious
Color was important as early as I can remember. I spent hours playing with my crayons (not coloring) and giving them identities. As a teenager I learned to knit but didn't do too much until my 40s. I began to make hats, scarves, and even sweaters for those I cared for. In 1996 I moved to New Orleans and began selling hats and scarves at local markets. My Ashford traditional spinning wheel finally got the love it deserved, and I've been making classicly handspun yarns which I knit, sometimes mixed with luxury commercial yarns. Wool, alpaca, silk, mohair, and other spinning fibers are purchased from American smallholders. I have dyed some fiber but I do buy a lot of pre-dyed rovings as they come in amazing colorways. I hope you enjoy looking at my products. Feel free to message me about a commissioned piece. And if you are in the New Orleans area in the fall season look for me at some art markets. Thanks!

I make these designs to help people connect without defaulting to the bland, saccharine stationery available in most big box stores. Flip through my eerie, witchy illustrations and see if there's something that reminds you of someone you'd like to get in touch with. I also make comics, sell original paintings, and offer a made-to-order, good-natured "prank" called art confetti which is an incredibly fun, non-annoying version of a glitter bomb ❥

DoStuffMakeThings
Nestled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley I make mostly wood turned items such as bowls, bottle stoppers, wands, handles, frames, tradition inkwell style pen nib holders, etc. Custom requests and commissions welcome! I love knowing where my materials come from, and much of the wood is sourced locally from naturally fallen trees, trees that was felled to allow new growth, or because of sickness, wood destined for the chipper, wood that had metal through it that couldn't be process into lumber, processed wood that was considered "not good enough" for full board use, etc.  For many of my pieces I can point to an area on a map of where it was felled, and often I know the exact location.  When a felled tree has a history or story that goes along with it I really like being able to share that story when the pieces go to a new home.
