I love making things, and sharing my creations! I try to make most of my pieces in an affordable range, because while I do like the occasional fancy thing, I personally like to have less expensive pieces that I'm not so afraid to lose or ruin. There are plenty of things I make that I am confident in, but I'm also still learning and love to try new things, so you might occasionally find some crazy/interesting/less-than-perfect things here for a low price while I practice new techniques. I lean towards using unique pieces in my creations, so oftentimes, once it's gone, it's gone! Occasionally I am able to find more of a specific charm or bead, but there are no guarantees. Knit and crochet were my first products for sale, previously known as MarKatKnitNCrochet; now doing business as MKs Take A Peek Clothing Boutique.  Expansion resulted when I returned to my first love, sewing.  Believing in sustainability and reuse, I began upcycling quilts, clothing and neckties.  My interests change occasionally so I often have a wide variety of products.  Variety is the spice of life, right?  Take a peek, buy unique and enjoy!  Questions are welcomed.  Custom orders are considered, even if not in my product line. 

Welcome to N Theory Farm! We are the Sims family, and in the spring 2020 we relocated from the deserts of Arizona to the mountains of Tennessee to continue building our dream of a self-sustainable farm and homestead. Why N Theory? Dave & Elaine used to watch the SyFy channel show 'Eureka', about a town of super-geniuses and their town sheriff, who was more average. Each episode featured some accident or misuse of technology that the sheriff had to solve with the assistance of the scientists of the town, and when he asked if a solution would work, the answer was always 'well, in theory it should!' Thus, N Theory was born, where everything should work! We currently offer Elaine's quilts and other handmade fabric goods, hand-knit items by both Dave and Elaine Eventually we hope to be able to offer home-grown raw fleece and wool from our own flock of Icelandic sheep! I believe that people should be able to have the benefits of technology without having their privacy violated at every turn. I also reject the idea that people should be dependent on these big tech companies in a way that intentionally makes it difficult to switch from one technology to another. Everything I sell is hand built by me personally. I also maintain all the software and update the hardware designs to improve them over time. Furthermore, all the hardware and software for the products I sell is open source and freely available. It may seem odd to have electronics on Artisans Coop, but it's really a natural fit, given my values. We both want people to be able to be independent from big tech companies who really just do not care about their customers/users at all. The main reason Artisans was founded was specifically because of how a huge corporation (Etsy) was treating their sellers (and that, of course, also affected the buyers). Hello! I'm a wildlife photographer in Alberta, Canada. With easy access to Rockies, badlands, rolling foothills, and open skies, nature is my playground. I also travel to other parts of the globe when I can, to capture the beauty of the wider world as well. My work emphasizes colour, line, and texture to share a perspective of the world that viewers may not have considered. My detail-oriented, down-to-earth personality comes through in my work; my images are bright and warm, inviting and true. I live in awe of the world around me; it’s an honor to be able to capture even a glimpse of its beauty in an image that lasts long after the moment is gone.

Subjects often include (but are not limited to) animals (cats! chickens! toads!), flowers, bugs, fruits & veggies, the macabre, & the celestial. A lifelong, inexplicable predilection for unexpected cursing & wit often appears, too. Each piece is a unique bit of of original art - you can feel the materials used to make them!
