Handmade Yarn Love

KnitZy Fiberlicious
Color was important as early as I can remember. I spent hours playing with my crayons (not coloring) and giving them identities. As a teenager I learned to knit but didn't do too much until my 40s. I began to make hats, scarves, and even sweaters for those I cared for.

In 1996 I moved to New Orleans and began selling hats and scarves at local markets. My Ashford traditional spinning wheel finally got the love it deserved, and I've been making classicly handspun yarns which I knit, sometimes mixed with luxury commercial yarns.

Wool, alpaca, silk, mohair, and other spinning fibers are purchased from American smallholders. I have dyed some fiber but I do buy a lot of pre-dyed rovings as they come in amazing colorways.

I hope you enjoy looking at my products. Feel free to message me about a commissioned piece. And if you are in the New Orleans area in the fall season look for me at some art markets. Thanks!
